Neymar extends his contract with PSG
Neymar has extended his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, keeping him at the Parc des Princes through 2027, the club has announced.
The Brazilian attacker, 30, has played 144 times for PSG since joining the team in 2017. In that time, he has scored 100 goals. He is one of the most marketable footballers in the world, and having him on the team would help PSG draw in elite players and keep up its title contention.
Neymar would allegedly earn €30 million year under the new agreement, making him one of the highest-paid footballers in the world. Additionally, it has a €300 million release clause that is meant to frighten off any possible suitors.
Neymar declared himself to be "very happy" to have agreed to the revised terms of his agreement and that he was "committed to helping PSG win more trophies." Additionally, he declared that he was "excited about the future" of the team.
Neymar was described as "a key part of our project" by PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who added that he was "confident that he will continue to be a major player for us in the years to come."
